La Hoja Matadero

It seems that most people suffer from the so-called blank page syndrome, even those who are considered professional writers. Overcoming it involves using different techniques, tools and tricks that can range from reversing meaningless words and phrases, describing the memory of a dream, unfulfilled desires, to transforming a close object or subject into a muse, or borrowing a book of transgressive poetry.

With "La Hoja", the artist-architects FAHR 021.3 invite us to complete the piece created for this space with stories, experiences, games, music, or simply with our rest and contemplation. And although each different use has an ephemeral time, they accumulate, one on top of the other, like layers, completing the work. Some are erased so that others can emerge, disappear forever and must be imagined. Sometimes, some traces may remain, allowing us to trace what happened.

The bodies entering La Hoja are like letters, and together they make up the words that make up the history of this place. They could also be composing a score: the bodies are the notes and silences, and when they come together they create a composition, a song, a theme. For this to happen, we have to overcome the syndrome of the neoliberal city, leaving the pressure from the outside, the conditioning, the forms of domination, the topographies of consumerism... to enter, at least for a while, a space of possibilities that can help free our creativity, imagination or behaviour from its gag.
