estado límbico is an investigation that explores the hidden world of artificial natures. Result of an artistic residency hosted by the Robida Collective in Topolò/Topolove, this project develops an imaginary situated on the opposite side of usually witnessed human/environment symbiosis. estado límbico was shot between different layers of abandonment - in places that were once inhabited, but became systematically unattended for generations - the enacted gestures seek to create a speculative archive. The result is a fictional testimony to the successive lives of things/beings after they fall outside the sphere of the pragmatic lifeworld. In its record of heterotopic realities, this fanzine collects some of the frames taken during the residency, as well as the essay “Modeling Future Ruralism”, by Aljaž Škrlep. Loose inside its pages there is also a proposition for a new approach towards art: “Site-Speculation, a provisional manifesto in two parts”.
